(Rotterdam, The Netherlands—March 2, 2017) CYMTV (short for Cybermedia Television BV) is now one of the fastest growing independent virtual CDN providers , that reduces video distribution costs up to 90% and minimizes the need for actual CDN hardware.
CYMTV announced today an update of her virtual CDN product, called StreamUnlimited. The new update now supports the H265 codec, opening the possibilities to deploy the StreamUnlimited product with higher video qualities (such as 4K or higher), lower bandwidth requirements and a higher efficiency of the virtual CDN structure.
The High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as H.265 and MPEG-H Part 2, is a video compression standard, one of several potential successors to the widely used AVC (H.264 or MPEG-4 Part 10). In comparison to AVC, HEVC offers about double the data compression ratio at the same level of video quality, or substantially improved video quality at the same bit rate. It supports resolutions up to 8192×4320, including 8K UHD.
StreamUnlimited now also supports Android 64-bit platform clients. An iOS client is scheduled for the next quarter.
About CYMTV : Headquartered in the Netherlands, Cybermedia Television delivers a complete product suite that enables operators, broadcasters, video app providers and set-top box providers to reduce streaming costs up to 90% and to provide content providers to launch their own end2end cloud managed TV channel and multi-screen app for only 10% of the normal cost.
